After a really great shot of my car at a meet, I've gotten a renewed want to modify Aces. On Saturday, I bought a piece I've been trying to source for some time.
I'll finally have a honeycomb grille for my car! Now to source a 1981 Supra PP Aero kit, and I can make Aces look as good as Isaias Barrios' Liftback.

Christ, that looks almost identical to my dad's old Celica ST, except his was in white. Is yours a liftback?

Yes.
This is the pic that rejuvenated my want/need to modify it.

Similar to my Aussie friend's "Noob" then.

So this is a Celica or a Celica Supra? It looks like the Supra but you seem to be implying it's a celica with a grill swap? Never seen one from this generation that I recall looks nice.

My car (the two tone blue/black) is a 1981 Celica GT.
Isaias car is also a Celica GT (I can't remember if it's an '80 or '81), he has a grille from the 1980 Celica USGP model (which is the same grille found on JDM Celica GT/GT Rally/Silhouette edtions), and the aero package off an 1981 Celica Supra "PP". He's also done a 1978/79 Celica headlight swap. Second gens started as round headlight models, but were changed with a refresh in 1980. The Aussies call the round light models "Series A", and the square headlight models, "Series B".
Celica Supras looked just like the "Series B" Celicas (they never had round headlights), but were about 5" longer from the firewall forward to accommodate the 4M I-6 motor.

Nice! I saw that pic come across my Facebook feed for OSR and immediately thought of you.

Yep, Isaias is on Classic-Celica. I'm not trying to replicate his car, but I LOVE the look of the Supra aero on it.

Looks great! Did you put the rack on yet?

I had it on there to see what it looks like, but I need to clean it up and paint it first. It was sitting in the guy's shop since the '80s so it's got some surface corrosion.

Very cool.
